Olivia Wins Schools International Pentathlon

Olivia Montez-Brown has capped her memorable year with an international success.The 16 year-old West Cheshire AC multi-eventer represented England at the Schools International Pentathlon match staged in Glasgow, where she won individual and team gold for her country in the over 18 girls competition.
Olivia, who lives in Great Sutton and is a pupil at Ellesmere Port Catholic High School, posted a new personal best of 3,345 points.
She hit 8.87m in the shot put and clocked a new personal best 60m hurdles time of 8.92 seconds, before long jumping 5.49m, and clearing 1-54m in the high jump.
Olivia then rounded the 800m in a time of two minutes 37.5 seconds and was supported by her team mates Emily Dixon, Rhiann Beaumont and Jordanna Morrish to earn England pole position.
The talented teenager won the Northern Indoor under 17 womens 60m hurdles title at Sheffield in January and claimed the 80m hurdles title at the Mason Trophy Inter-Counties Schools Championships in June at Stoke.
Success in the sprint hurdles at both the Cheshire County Clubs and Schools Championships in May and June, was followed by a gold medal display in the long jump at Hull in Julys Northern Championships.
Olivia won the North West Schools Under 17 Womens Combined Events Championships at Crewe in June with 4,337 points, and finished third at Bedford in the English Schools Under 17 Womens Heptathlon Championships in September with 4,330 points.

Sonny Dean and Tamsin OKeefe have both been crowned champions.

Sonny Dean and Tamsin O Keefe have both been crowned champions.The West Cheshire AC youngsters clinched individual gold medal positions in their respective age groups at the final round of the North Staffs Cross Country League staged at Leek.
Dean won the under 11 boys race in a time of seven minutes 30 seconds to finish on six points overall and seven points clear of second placed clubmate Paul Morrison who compiled 13 points after finishing seventh at Leek in 7:59.

O Keefe celebrated success in the under 11 girls age group after winning the Leek race in 8:26 and finishing top individual overall on eight points – seven points ahead of her nearest rival

Sonny takes bronze

Sonny Dean secured a podium place at the UK Cross Country Challenge at Sefton Park in Liverpool.The West Cheshire AC youngster finished third in the under 11 boys race with an impressive time of seven minutes 36 seconds.
He was joined at the fixture by Jack Chapman who negotiated the under 13 boys race to finish 35th in 12:01, ahead of Jac Goodall (65th in 12:43), and Rory Willson (113th in 14:10).
Issy Clarke finished 53rd in the under 13 girls race with a time of 13:43, while her elder sister, Katie, finished 58th in the under 15 girls race with a time of 12:48.
Cameron Weaver claimed 74th spot in the under 15 boys race in a time of 11:37.

Georgina Wins Race Walk Gold

West Cheshire ACs newcomer to racewalking has taken a gold medal from her first meeting held at Dudley, in the West Midlands.Georgina Swan, aged 18 on the day of the race, held off a strong challenge from experienced athletes in a 2km handicap race at the Claire Powell Open Track and Field Meeting held in very cold and wet conditions.
Race walk training takes place at Stanney on a Thursday evening, under the supervision of a qualified endurance and racewalking coach who is inviting other interested athletes to attend.
