MESSAGE FROM OUR MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY

Thank you to all members who train at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village and who have kept up to date with their track fee payments. We have noticed that some accounts which are set to top-up automatically are stopped from doing so because some banks require two-factor authentication. If you think this may apply to you, please could you check your account and top-up – reminders are automatically sent every time you train when your balance goes below zero. Any problems, please contact Jane Pughe at: [email protected]

WE’RE OPEN DURING THE SCHOOL SUMMER HOLIDAYS

Please remember that the Club continues to operate throughout the School Summer Holidays, so please continue to attend our training sessions and, if you are a parent, please feel free to come along to the track and see what happens. COULD YOU SPARE A FEW HOURS AT AN EVENT?

The club takes part in several track and field leagues over the summer including this Sunday’s Cheshire Track and Field League. We earn points for each official/ helper we provide at this event, which counts towards our athletes’ score for the round, and so helps them continue to compete at the highest levels. All officials and helpers at these events, as at West Cheshire AC itself, are unpaid volunteers.

Roles involve: recording finishing positions; recording finishing times on the track, and distances and heights in field events; and ensuring that rules are followed. Training takes a couple of hours. If you are at an event to watch, helping out in this way makes a long day fly by, and keeps you in the middle of the action!

If you feel that you could help the club out in this way, or just want to learn more, please speak to our club Track and Field Officer and coach Dennis Wall, who can be contacted at: [email protected]

COULD YOU SPARE A FEW HOURS AT AN EVENT?

The club takes part in several track and field leagues over the summer – the Cheshire League, Youth Development League and Northern League. We earn points for each official/ helper we provide at these events, which count towards our athletes’ score for each round, and so help them continue to compete at the highest levels.

HELP NEEDED THIS SUNDAY…

The Club is hosting an Under 13 and Under 15 Youth Development Track & Field League fixture at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, this Sunday, and help is needed from 8am to set-up the equipment and/or to tidy away from 4pm. Please help your Club.
