Rob Tudor in British Masters Cross-country

Rob Tudor secured a top 20 position at the British Masters International Cross-country Championships staged at Bellahouston Park, Glasgow.
The West Cheshire AC member finished 16th in the over-45 age group and 74th overall with a time of 28 minutes 35 seconds.

Mike Lamb made president of Liverpool and District Cross-country Union

Mike Lamb has been appointed president of the Liverpool and District Cross Country Union for the next 12 months.
The enthusiastic 70-year-old has served the sport of athletics for many years and is still an active coach, official and cross country secretary at West Cheshire Athletic Club.

He enjoyed running as a pupil at Wirral Grammar School and ran for the school cross country team. He contributed towards a team success at the 1957 Cheshire County Championships, and competed on the day his school won the Northern Schools title at Lyme Park, Disley.

Mike returned to running in his mid-thirties and represented Ellesmere Port Athletic Club, and Chester and Ellesmere Port Athletic Club, before becoming a member of West Cheshire AC when it was founded in 1998.

He achieved his targets of posting 60 minutes for 10 miles, and three hours for a marathon, as well as running in a few ultra distance events up to 24 hours, and he combined his road running appearances with representing his club in cross country, road relays, and track and field fixtures.

Mike is a loyal servant to his current club where he helps organise weekly running sessions from the Northgate Arena, as well as acting as a qualified official at cross country, road running, and track and field meetings.

He has now been appointed president of the Liverpool and District Cross Country Union, one of the oldest athletics organisations in existence since staging their first-ever championships in 1891.
