We compete in a variety of disciplines, including track and field, road running, off-road (cross-country, multi-terrain, and fell), in organised leagues, championships and open events mostly around North-west England and North Wales.  We organise several road races and a schools’ cross-country series.

A summary of events for Summer 2022 can be found here.

Endurance League
Since 2008, we’ve organised an annual endurance league competition for West Cheshire AC’s senior and veteran runners, based on gaining points for participation in road, cross-country, multi-terrain and fell races over the calendar year, with an emphasis on club events. See here for an explanation of the league, and see near the foot of our archive page for previous years’ standings.

See here for league organiser John Driscoll’s further explanation of how points are gained, as well as a comparison of numbers taking part now versus 2014, and an explanation of how the handicap system works, featuring our 2018 league winners Angela Tegg and Andy Carter.

Given the scarcity of racing opportunities, points gained in 2020 were rolled over into the final 2021 tables, to give final women’s and men’s endurance league tables.

The latest women’s and men’s endurance league tables as at the end of June 2022 are now available. See here for a list of races in which points were gained since the start of January 2022.
