DYLAN GLEDHILL produced a record-breaking display on Sunday, at Wrexham.

The West Cheshire Athletic Club teenager hit a new under 16 boys personal best javelin throw of 47.46m at the Wrexham Final Fling Competition.

Dylan established a new club age group record and pocketed a bronze medal at the event staged at the Queensway Stadium.

Charles Uchenna continued his rich vein of form at Trafford on Sunday.

The youngster celebrated a hat-trick of victories in the Trafford AC Open Medal Meeting.

Charles sliced five seconds off his under 12 boys 600m personal best to clock 1:49.74; posted 20.52 seconds in his 150m sprint; and registered a time of 10.35 seconds in the 75m.

The trio of successes followed his winning hat-trick at the Wirral AC Open Track and Field Meeting last week.

Isla Lambert hit 29.34m for second spot in the under 14 girls hammer at Trafford and added 19.01m in the discus.

Merryn Thorne achieved 26.39m in the under 14 girls hammer, clocked 16.77 in her 100m, and negotiated the 75m hurdles in 16.80 seconds.

And Andy Parker clocked 25.54 and 56.71 in the men’s 200m and 400m respectively.

NIA MANSON secured fifth position in the under 16 girls race at the opening round of the North Staffs Cross Country League held at Betley Court Farm, near Crewe.

Jeff Gifford finished fourth in his over-60 age group and Ian Pritchard was 19th in his over 55 age category, while Sam Arnold rounded the under 12 boys race in 26th position.

DUNCAN HARRIS won his over-55 age group prize after completing the final round of the Wirral Multi Terrain Race Series at Arrowe Park, Birkenhead.

Sam Oliver was first home for West Cheshire at Arrowe Park, posting 24:19 for third place, ahead of Jeff Gifford (second over-60 man), Andrew Ckague (fourth over-55 man), Andy Manson (12th over 50 man), Ian Pritchard (10th over-55 man), Sallyann Harper (fifth over-50 lady), Phil Gent (16th over-50 man), and Tony Kennedy (16th over-65 man).

ANDREW CLAGUE and Jeff Gifford were overall age group winners at the Deestriders Off Road Grand Prix Series held at Shotton.

Andrew won the over-55 age category and Jeff his over 60 age group, while Steve Fernyhough was second overall in his over 40 age group, and Sallyann Harper was second in her over 50 age group.

FIXTURES this weekend include the opening round of the North Wales Cross Country League, at St Asaph, on Saturday; and the opening round of the Borders Road Running League, at Llandegla, on Sunday.

FIXTURES for the 2026-27 Manchester Area Cross Country League have been announced.

The first round will be held on October 10, at Woodbank Park, Stockport; and other fixtures will take place on November 14 at Sherdley Park, St. Helens; November 28 at Sefton Park, Liverpool; January 16 at Tatton Park, Knutsford; and February 13 at Heaton Park, Manchester.

THE English Road Running Association will stage the 6 and 4 Stage Road Relays at Sutton Park, Birmingham, on Saturday, October 3, and the 12 and 6 Stage Road Relays, at Sutton Park, Birmingham, on Saturday, April 17.

THE English Cross Country Association Cross Country Relays, at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, will be held on Saturday, October 31, while the English Cross Country Association National Championships, will be held at Thoresby Park, Ollerton, Nottinghamshire, on Saturday, February 20, and the UK Inter Counties Cross Country Championships and Cross Challenge Final, will be held at Nottingham, on Saturday, March 13.
