Sonny Dean secured a podium place at the UK Cross Country Challenge at Sefton Park in Liverpool.The West Cheshire AC youngster finished third in the under 11 boys race with an impressive time of seven minutes 36 seconds.
He was joined at the fixture by Jack Chapman who negotiated the under 13 boys race to finish 35th in 12:01, ahead of Jac Goodall (65th in 12:43), and Rory Willson (113th in 14:10).
Issy Clarke finished 53rd in the under 13 girls race with a time of 13:43, while her elder sister, Katie, finished 58th in the under 15 girls race with a time of 12:48.
Cameron Weaver claimed 74th spot in the under 15 boys race in a time of 11:37.

West Cheshire ACs newcomer to racewalking has taken a gold medal from her first meeting held at Dudley, in the West Midlands.Georgina Swan, aged 18 on the day of the race, held off a strong challenge from experienced athletes in a 2km handicap race at the Claire Powell Open Track and Field Meeting held in very cold and wet conditions.
Race walk training takes place at Stanney on a Thursday evening, under the supervision of a qualified endurance and racewalking coach who is inviting other interested athletes to attend.

Jack Chapman won the under 11 boys race at the opening round of the North Wales Junior Cross Country League Series at Bangor.
The West Cheshire AC youngster competed at Treborth, Bangor, and clocked 11 minutes 37 seconds to finish 17 seconds clear of his nearest rival.
West Cheshire ACs Emily Ball won the under 15 girls shot at the Final Fling in Wrexham with a new personal best of 11.79m which moves her up to fourth on the UK ranking lists for her age group.
She also claimed a silver medal in the discus with a throw of 33.55m, and was fifth in the javelin with 26.84m.
