Press Report: Alan Manages To Run PB in Poland

ALAN LITTLER has represented England at the European Athletics Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships.

The West Cheshire sprinter clocked a new indoor 400m personal time time of 56.13 seconds in the over-35 men’s competition held in Torun, Poland.

And Alan rounded the 800m in a time of 2:09.65 to post fifth spot in his heat, just 0.1 away from his outdoor time last season, and only two seconds away from his personal best.

LEWIS MORRIS won the first Wirral Seaside 5k Race of the season at Leasowe on Wednesday with a time of 15 minutes 56 seconds.

He was joined at the event by West Cheshire team mates Scott Wells (10th in 17:28), Graham Wells (second over-50 man in 18:19), and Emilia Pyper (12th under 20 lady in 20:32).

The next Wirral Seaside 5k Race is on Wednesday, April 29, and other fixtures in the series are being held on Wednesdays, May 27, June 24, July 29, and August 26. 

FIXTURES this week include the Halewood 5km Race on Saturday, and the Trafford AC Open Medal Meeting at Longford Park Stadium, on Sunday.

WEST CHESHIRE is hosting a Seniors and Masters Open Track Meeting on Saturday, April 11, at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, featuring One mile, 3,000m and 10,000m events, with the 10,000m incorporating the Northern Masters Championship.

The entry fee is Β£7.50 per event for track events and Β£10 for the 10,000m, and track events start at 10am.

THE 2026 Cheshire Steeplechase Championships will be held at Warrington, on Saturday, April 18. Warrington AC have kindly offered to host the County Steeplechase Championships for Cheshire and other North West Counties at their Spring Open Meeting.

There will be races for Under 16, Under 18, Under 20 and Senior men and women. Medals will be awarded to the first three Cheshire athletes to finish in each race.

Holding a joint event with other counties will provide athletes with a great opportunity to take part in more competitive races. The closing date for entries is April 15.
