Welsh Athletics is organising an Assistant Club Coaching Course at Deeside College, Connah’s Quay, on Saturday 23rd September.

The course is perfect for anyone who currently volunteers at the Club and who wants to become a graded coach to help the Club. It outlines the roles and responsibilities of the Coaching Assistant, how it differs from the Leader and Athletics Coach courses and its position within the Coach Development Pathway. The basics of movement (biomechanics) will be taught and an introduction to the athletics events will be covered. Identifying the principles that underpin and improve performance as well as applying an athlete-centred approach to delivery are among the many areas covered during this course.
