CAN YOU HELP OUT FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS?
This Saturday (November 19th) sees the third round of the West Cheshire AC Schools Cross-country Race Series at Ellesmere Port Sports Village. This series of low-key cross-country fixtures helps strengthen a link between the club and local schools and provides a steppingstone into club athletics.
Help and support is needed either to set up the course from 8am, help out at registration in the Trackside Room from 9:30am, marshal or officiate at the start and finish areas from 10am, or tidy away course markings after the last race before 12 noon.

CHESTER WALLS RACE HELPERS URGENTLY NEEDED

EARLY CHRISTMAS PRESENTS
Parents wanting to purchase club hoodies (Β£15) as Christmas presents are reminded that Kathryn Rawson will being selling club hoodies at the EPSV Track Office AFTER Saturday Morning training sessions.
Payment can be made by cash or by cheque (made payable to West Cheshire AC).

Saturday – Meerbrook 15km Race, at Meerbrook, near Leek, Staffordshire (10am start).
Saturday – Track & Field Training Sessions at EPSV Track, supervised by Dave McKay and Jane Palmer (10am-12 noon).
Saturday – Hill Training Session at Wepre Park, Connah’s Quay, supervised by sprinting coach, Jon Moss (10am-12 noon).
Sunday – Northern Indoor Open Track and Field Meeting, at English Institute of Sport, Sheffield (10.15am start).
Sunday – Conwy Half Marathon (9.30am start).

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED AT TRAINING SESSIONS
The Club needs helpers to register members on the Tablet at the EPSV Track Office before training sessions at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village Athletics Track, and volunteers are needed to assist our coaches to help deliver training sessions. THREE-RACE SERIES DISCOUNT OFFER
Entries are now open for the 2022 Chester Round the Walls Race (50th anniversary!). Take advantage of a discounted entry offer for West Cheshire AC’s 3-race series (Chester Round the Walls on Boxing Day, Chester Spring 5 Race on April 12, and Guilden Sutton 10K Race on September 17. The entry link is here: https://wcac.niftyentries.com/wcac. Members of WCAC are reminded that they must provide a marshal/ helper for these WCAC-run events if they intend to run in them.
CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS
All three of the events below are real, atmospheric occasions involving runners of all abilities. The Cheshire and Northern Championships championships are on good courses at previously used venues. The prestigious National championships are in our own backyard on a similarly testing course – a great experience for regular cross-country runners and newbies alike! Because these events matter greatly to the club, entry fees will be paid by the club,Β on the basis that members who ask to be entered turn up on the day.
No qualification needed, all abilities represented. Run in any one event or all three. The only requirements are that you are a FIRST-CLAIM member of West Cheshire AC who will turn up on the day and, for the Cheshire Championships only, you must either have been born in Cheshire or have been living in Cheshire for at least nine months before the race, and must not have competed in another county’s championships since October 1st 2022. The races are:
Cheshire County AAΒ Cross-country Championships at Reaseheath College, Nantwich (TBC), Saturday January 7th 2023. Age groups from under 11s to veterans.
Northern AthleticsΒ Cross-country Championships at Witton Park, Blackburn, Saturday January 28th 2023. Age groups from under 13s to veterans.
English NationalΒ Cross-country Championships at Bolesworth Castle, near Tattenhall, Chester, Saturday February 25th 2023. Age groups from under 13s to veterans.

Any entries for the Cheshire and Northern Championships, after the closing dates specified above, must be done by the entrants themselves, who will have to pay an entry fee. It appears that there is no individual entry to the National championships, so please let us know by the dates shown above if you want to run!
