YOUTH DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE MATCH AT EPSV THIS SUNDAY
The Club is hosting the first round of the U17/U20 Youth Development Track and Field League at Ellesmere Port Sports Village this Sunday, 30th May (12 noon start).
Helpers are needed from 9am to set up the equipment, from 12 noon to help during the competition, and from 3.40pm to help tidy away. If you can help please come along.

CONGRATULATIONS!
Katie Clarke, running her last race for her US College, SCAD, Atlanta, Georgia, finished in 4th place in the 10,000m final of the NAIA Conference Championships in a time of 36minutes 23.14 seconds which sets a new West Cheshire Club Best Performance, beating her own previous time of 36 minutes 50.85 seconds set on 9th April 2021.
Congratulations to Katie on her excellent performance and who is now at the end of a four year academic stay in the US.
A GREAT START TO THE LEAGUE SEASON
The Club celebrated success in their first post lockdown track and field league match.
The under 11s and under 13s won the opening round of the Cheshire League held at Macclesfield.
Theo Shepherd, Macey Jones and Ruby Phillips produced the top individual performances in the cold and blustery conditions.
Theo clocked a grade one under 13 boys 100m time of 12.9 seconds, while Macey posted a grade two under 13 girls 100m time of 13.7 seconds, and Ruby rounded the under 13 girls 800m in a grade four time of 2:39.1.
Theo was backed-up by under 13 team mates Ellis Williams, Daniel Walker, Thomas Rimmer, and Noah Woolgar, while Macey and Ruby were supported by under 13 team colleagues Ursula Archer, Beth Manson, Faith Barlow-Gambles, Maddy Cobb and Esme Graham.
Logan Sefton, Dylan Gledhill, Noah Booth, Tom Birkett-Evans, Maya Jennings, Florence Harte, Grace Hole, and Isabelle Stammers represented the club’s under 11s team.
MATCH RESULT: 1 West Cheshire AC 289 points; 2 Crewe & Nantwich AC 270; 3 Macclesfield Harriers & AC 265; 4 St Helens Sutton AC 130; 5 Handforth Harriers & AC 72.
UNDER 11s MATCH RESULT: 1 West Cheshire AC 142; 2 Crewe & Nantwich AC 137; 3 Macclesfield Harriers & AC 129; 4 St Helens Sutton AC 76; 5 Handforth Harriers & AC 28.
UNDER 13s MATCH RESULT: 1 West Cheshire AC 207; 2 Macclesfield Harriers & AC 196; 3 Crewe & Nantwich AC 193; 4 St Helens Sutton 84; 5 Handforth Harriers & AC 44.
JESSICA LARK and Ella Harvey posted new 800m personal bests at the British Milers Club PB Classic fixture held at Leigh Sports Village.
Jessica clocked 2:22:54 in her under 15 girls age group, while Ella posted 2:55:41 in her under 13 girls age category.
CONGRATULATIONS!
THREE Club members celebrated personal bests at this week’s Trafford AC Sprints Open Meeting.
Callum Stow-Povall clocked 12.19 and 25.23 for the Under 17 men’s 100m and 200m, while Imogen Pughe posted 59.61 for a new U17 women’s 400m Club record, and Beth McMahon posted 59.93 for an U23 women’s 400m personal best.

CLUB WELFARE TEAM VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED
Club Welfare Team Volunteers are needed to ensure that we provide a safe, supportive set-up in which any welfare or safeguarding issues can be reported and dealt with fairly, efficiently, and in line with England Athletics guidelines. HELPERS WANTED FOR COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIPS
West Cheshire AC is scheduled to host the Cheshire Track and Field Championships at Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Saturday and Sunday, August 21 and 22.
But County Officials secretary, Alan Morris, is currently struggling to find enough timekeepers and field judges, and we will need to allocate people to other roles such as Technical Manager, Seeding, Announcer, and Presentations, to ensure the event runs smoothly.

UPDATED PROVISIONAL DATES FOR YOUR DIARY…
Subject to Covid-19 rules, West Cheshire AC’s latest revised league season looks like this:
Under 13/Under 15 Youth Development League Merseyside Division: Saturday, June 5, (at Ellesmere Port Sports Village), Saturday, July 17, (at Bebington Oval), and Saturday, September 4 (at Wavertree, Liverpool).
Under 17/Under 20 Youth Development League Merseyside Division: Sunday, May 30 (at Ellesmere Port Sports Village), Sunday, June 27, (at Ellesmere Port Sports Village), Sunday, July 25 (at Bebington Oval), and Sunday, September 5, (at Wavertree, Liverpool).
West Cheshire AC’s North Premier West League squad will open their season on Saturday, May 22, at Blackburn, before heading to Wigan (still to be confirmed) on Saturday, June 19, then hosting round three at Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Sunday, July 4, and concluding the campaign at Trafford, on Sunday, August 1.
West Cheshire AC’s Cheshire League second and third rounds are at Macclesfield on Sunday, June 20 and Saturday, July 24; and West Cheshire AC will host the final round at Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Sunday, August 29.
NORTHERN ATHLETICS 5k CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2021 Northern Athletics 5K Road Race Championships will return to the Sunderland 5K – hosted by Sunderland Harriers. The event will be on the evening of Thursday, 22nd July 2021, (subject to govt. regulations). Entry details will be posted on the Sunderland Harriers website when available.

ENGLAND ATHLETICS RESPONSE TO GOVERNMENT’S ROADMAP
England Athletics have outlined in an βathletics and running roadmapβ infographic what everything means at each stage. More detailed guidance will be provided they have received further information from Sport England and the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport. Please note, all these dates are subject to the UK Governmentβs four-step roadmap to ease restrictions across England and the conditions which must be met before the country is able to move from one step to the next. Anyone requiring help and support while self isolating can contact the local council hotline number of 0300 123 7031.
This is a dedicated hotline number for those self isolating and who don’t have anyone to help. A call to this number will provide help organising food or medicine deliveries, or some sort of social contact. The number for the most in need is 0300 123 7031. It is open Monday to Sunday (8am-7pm).
