Press Report: Track is Back at Macc.

WEST CHESHIRE Athletic Club celebrated success in their first post lockdown track and field league match.

The Ellesmere Port Sports Village-based outfit’s under 11s and under 13s won the opening round of the Cheshire League held at Macclesfield on Sunday.

Theo Shepherd, Macey Jones and Ruby Phillips produced the top individual performances in the cold and blustery conditions.

Shepherd clocked a grade one under 13 boys 100m time of 12.9 seconds, while Jones posted a grade two under 13 girls 100m time of 13.7 seconds, and Phillips rounded the under 13 girls 800m in a grade four time of 2:39.1.

Shepherd was backed-up by under 13 team mates Ellis Williams, Daniel Walker, Thomas Rimmer, and Noah Woolgar, while Jones and Phillips were supported by under 13 team colleagues Ursula Archer, Beth Manson, Faith Barlow-Gambles, Maddy Cobb and Esme Graham.

Logan Sefton, Dylan Gledhill, Noah Booth, Tom Birkett-Evans, Maya Jennings, Florence Harte, Grace Hole, and Isabelle Stammers represented the club’s under 11s team.

MATCH RESULT: 1 West Cheshire AC 289 points; 2 Crewe & Nantwich AC 270; 3 Macclesfield Harriers & AC 265; 4 St Helens Sutton AC 130; 5 Handforth Harriers & AC 72.

UNDER 11s MATCH RESULT: 1 West Cheshire AC 142; 2 Crewe & Nantwich AC 137; 3 Macclesfield Harriers & AC 129; 4 St Helens Sutton AC 76; 5 Handforth Harriers & AC 28.

UNDER 13s MATCH RESULT: 1 West Cheshire AC 207; 2 Macclesfield Harriers & AC 196; 3 Crewe & Nantwich AC 193; 4 St Helens Sutton 84; 5 Handforth Harriers & AC 44.

FIXTURES this weekend include the first round of the Under 17s/Under 20s Youth Development Track and Field League being hosted by West Cheshire AC at Ellesmere Port Sports Village on Sunday (12 noon start).
