Press Report: County XC Champs Still On

WEST CHESHIRE Athletic Club members are preparing to take part in the rearranged Cheshire County Cross Country Championships.

England Athletics has given permission for the event to go ahead on Saturday, April 17, after the original date for the fixture on February 20 was cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions.

But Cheshire County Athletics Association are now looking forward to organising the annual event at Betley Court Farm, Crewe, on the Cheshire/Staffordshire border.

Details about entries for the fixture will be announced shortly now that permission has been granted to organise the event under Covid-19 rules.

The venue has been used for league cross country races, and last year was the setting for the Staffordshire County Cross Country Championships.

CHESHIRE has agreed to host this year’s North West Road Relay Championships at Birchwood, Warrington, on Saturday, September 11.

THE Northern Athletics Autumn Road Relays is scheduled to take place on Sunday, September 19, at a venue still be be confirmed. The event will go ahead if Government restrictions allow.

THE Junior British Inter-Counties Hill and Fell Championship race which was due to be held at Meltham, West Yorkshire, on Saturday, May 29, has been rearranged.

The event will now be The Up the Nab Fell Race to be held at Glossop Rugby Club, Hargate Hill Lane, Charlesworth, Derbyshire, SK13 5HG, on Sunday, June 13.
