Press Report: No Manchester XC League this winter
WEST CHESHIRE Athletic Club’s cross country league fixtures this season have all been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Ellesmere Port Sports Village-based outfit has seen fixtures in the Liverpool League, North Staffs League, North Wales League, and Manchester League all cancelled.
The latest league to confirm a cancellation was the Manchester Cross Country League’s working group whoseΒ website post read:
“Sadly we have come to the conclusion that a League match is not feasible and have, reluctantly, decided to cancel the Manchester Area 2020/21 Season…We ask you to take care and we look forward to welcoming you back next season [2021-22].”
Meanwhile, Cheshire County Athletics Association is hoping that it can stage a cross country championship at Betley, on Saturday February 6.
And the Liverpool and District Cross Country League is hoping that their annual championship can still be held on Sunday, February 7, at Clarkeβs Garden, Liverpool.
WEST CHESHIRE Athletic Club will be staging their Annual General Meeting via Zoom on Monday, November 30. Members wanting to attend need to request a link to the meeting from Club secretary, Clare Mallon.
