HELPERS – AND SPONSORS – URGENTLY NEEDED
The Club is looking for volunteers for the various age groups that we run on club nights. You don’t need to sign your name in blood – we just need you to help out at sessions as and when your diary allows.
Please contact Dennis Wall by emailing: [email protected] as we aim to put together a monthly calendar that enables the coaches to plan better.
On another note the club are looking for a new sponsor for the Four-Round Schools Cross Country Race Series, the Chester Spring 5 Miles Road Race, the Guilden Sutton 10k Road Race, and the Chester Round The Walls Race.
The sponsorship can ideally be for at least 2/3 years with your company logo being displayed prominently at these well known events. If you are interested to have an informal chat or if you work for or know of any local companies that may be interested then please let Mark Duffey know by emailing: [email protected]
NORTHERN ROAD RELAY CHAMPIONSHIPS AND JUNIOR 5k CHAMPIONSHIPS
Ellie Robinson has kindly agreed to organise Club entries for the Northern Senior Mens 12 Stage and Senior Womens 6 Stage Road Relay Championships and Under 15s and Under 17s 5km Road Race Championships being held at Birkenhead Park on Sunday, March 22.
Details can be found here.
Any Club member wanting to take part should email Ellie ASAP at: [email protected]
WHY NOT BECOME AN OFFICIAL?
West Cheshire AC is keen to help any parents of members wanting to become qualified officials. The Club will pay for parents of members wanting to attend an officials course.
Please email Dennis if you are interested at [email protected]
Further details about officiating can be found here.
LAST CHANCE! WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU! WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT OUR CLUB?
The Club is working with England Athletics to carry out a detailed review of our club. At the end of the review we will receive a bespoke report from England Athletics highlighting priority areas for our club to enhance or improve. As part of the review we are keen to find out, via a survey, the views of our members: athletes, runners, parents, coaches and volunteers.
Any feedback we receive to this survey from our members will be anonymous. Responses to the survey will be collated by England Athletics, who will remove any comments or identifying information from the feedback before it is shared with our club. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete, and will only be used for the reasons outlined above.
If you can complete the survey before Friday 21st February, via the link below, it would be greatly appreciated.

EPSV TRACK CLOSURE
Delamination work on the EPSV Track is scheduled to take place from Monday 16th March by White Line before the new season gets underway. The EPSV Track will be out of bounds during this work which is scheduled to take 10 days to complete with drying and curing times, but the work is weather dependent which could affect the exact starting date.
CLUB TREASURER VACANCY
Our Club treasurer, Lisa Davies, is stepping down in September and the Club is searching for her replacement. The Club ideally needs someone who can work alongside Lisa until she steps away from the role. Please contact Dennis Wall if you are interested by emailing: [email protected]
THIS WEEKEND
This Saturday sees the English National Cross Country Championships taking place at Wollaton Park, Nottingham, and the Welsh National Cross Country Championships taking place at Pembrey Country Park, near Llanelli.
This Saturday and Sunday sees the England Indoor Under 15s, Under 17s, Under 20s, and Senior Championships taking place at Sheffield’s English Institute of Sport.

HELPERS NEEDED FOR CHESTER JUNIOR PARKRUN
Club member Mark Gallagher is working on setting up a 2km Junior parkrun at the Countess of Chester Country park every Sunday morning (9am start) from April for 4-14 year olds. Further details can be found here.
BE SEEN AND BE SAFE
All Club members training at night on routes that involve crossing roads and where there is traffic are reminded to wear bright and reflective clothing. Please be safe.
PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY
All parents of youngsters attending track training sessions are reminded to collect their sons and daughters from the track – not from the car park. The Club wants to ensure everyone stays safe and that every youngster safely leaves every track training session.
All youngsters attending track training sessions should bring along warm clothing, preferably waterproofs, hats, gloves, as well as a bottle of water.
CLUB KIT
Anyone wanting to purchase club vests and/or hoodies is reminded that parents Vikki Brett and Joanne Lark will sell club kit at the EPSV Track Office AFTER Tuesday night training sessions.
Payment can be made by cash or by cheque (made payable to West Cheshire AC).
URGENT HELP NEEDED
The Club needs urgent help, support, and assistance from parents during Tuesday evening training sessions at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village Athletics Track (6.30pm-8pm).
The club currently has a waiting list for under 11s, and this situation can only be resolved by asking parents to volunteer on a rota basis at Tuesday night training sessions.
PARENTS who can help should contact Dennis Wall on 07968643038 or email: [email protected]
BECOME ONE OF OUR CLUB COACHES
Any parents of West Cheshire AC members wanting to become qualified coaches will be fully supported by the Club who will pay for coaching courses.
Please email Dennis if you are interested at [email protected]
Further details about coaching can be found here.
PHYSIO SUPPORT
Club member Heather McLintock is a qualified physiotherapist and offers substantial discounted prices for West Cheshire AC members on production of their membership card. Heather can be contacted on 01244 381350 or 07885 462487.
