CLUB AWARDS EVENING TICKETS NOW ON SALE

Tickets are now being sold for the Annual Club Awards Evening being held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Chester, on Saturday 1st February, with our guest speaker being UK Number One Female Long Jumper, Abigail Irozuru. The link to buy tickets is here.

Raffle tickets for the Club Awards Evening will be on sale from the EPSV Track Office AFTER training, so please remember to bring some money along and support your Club Awards Evening.

The Club is also appealing to all members to donate raffle prizes for the Awards Evening. If anyone can provide a raffle prize they should present them at the EPSV Track Office on a training day before Thursday 16th January.

TIME RUNNING OUT TO ENTER THE NORTHERN INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

ENTRIES close on January 20 for the Northern Indoor Under 13 and Under 15 Track and Field Championships being held at Sheffield on Sunday, February 2. The entry link is here.

THIS WEEKEND

Saturday sees the latest round of the Manchester Area Cross Country League taking place at Tatton Park, Knutsford, (12 noon start). All runners must have been pre-entered by Club Cross Country Secretary, Dave Alexander. Details here.

Saturday also sees the latest round of the North Wales Cross Country League being held at Roman Road Sports Centre, Longden Road, Shrewsbury, SY3 9DW, (2pm start). Details here.

Sunday sees the latest round of the Borders Road Running League being held at Pensarn, Abergele, LL22 7PP, (11am start). Details here.

CLUB TRAINING SESSIONS

Friday, January 10: High Jump, Throwing, and Pole Vault Training at Deeside Indoor Athletics Centre, Kelsterton Road, Connah’s Quay, (6.30pm start).

Saturday, January 11: Sportshall Athletics Training at Ellesmere Port Sports Village, (report to EPSV Athletics Track Office for 10am).

Saturday, January 11: Sprint Training Session at Ellesmere Port Sports Village Track, (10am start).

BE SEEN AND BE SAFE

All Club members training at night on routes that involve crossing roads and where there is traffic are reminded to wear bright and reflective clothing. Please be safe.

PROMOTIONAL CLUB VIDEO

The Club is planning to produce a promotional video to be screened at the Club Awards Evening in February. If any members don’t want to be shown on the video please let Dennis Wall know ASAP by email at: dennis.wall1@ntlworld.com

PARENTAL RESPONSIBILITY

All parents of youngsters attending track training sessions are reminded to collect their sons and daughters from the track – not from the car park. The Club wants to ensure everyone stays safe and that every youngster safely leaves every track training session.

All youngsters attending track training sessions should bring along warm clothing, preferably waterproofs, hats, gloves, as well as a bottle of water.

CLUB KIT

Anyone wanting to purchase club vests and/or hoodies is reminded that parents Vikki Brett and Joanne Lark will sell club kit at the EPSV Track Office AFTER Tuesday night training sessions.

Payment can be made by cash or by cheque (made payable to West Cheshire AC).

URGENT HELP NEEDED

The Club needs urgent help, support, and assistance from parents during Tuesday evening training sessions at the Ellesmere Port Sports Village Athletics Track (6.30pm-8pm).

The club currently has a waiting list for under 11s, and this situation can only be resolved by asking parents to volunteer on a rota basis at Tuesday night training sessions.

BECOME ONE OF OUR CLUB COACHES

Any parents of West Cheshire AC members wanting to become qualified coaches will be fully supported by the Club who will pay for coaching courses.

West Cheshire AC is keen to help any parents of members wanting to become qualified officials. The Club will pay for parents of members wanting to attend an officials course.
