WCAC Off-road Summer League 2019 Round 10: Report

Nine West Cheshire runners ran in the final round of the league, the popular Cilcain Mountain Fell Race up Moel Famau on Bank Holiday Monday.

Tom again led the way, finishing second both in the race and in the league overall, amassing points in only four races, after having missed the first five rounds. Next home on the day were league newcomers Alex S and Andrew, followed by inaugural men’s league champion Tony W, Tony S, Richard, Andy, Mark and the unstoppable Alex D, who earned second place in the women’s league behind Ellie and ahead of Keely.

Well done to all who took part – it has hopefully been popular enough to do again next year, with 12 women and 21 men taking part. The high numbers particularly on the men’s side meant that Tom, Richard, Andy and Chris were each separated by single points behind Tony in the final standings.

Special mention to Andy, Tony W and Ellie for running seven of the league’s ten races, closely followed by Alex D and Richard on 6, and Chris Palmer on 5. Final standings in both women’s and men’s leagues are now up at the bottom of the off-road page.
