WCAC Off-road League 2019

Well done to all ten members who took part in the first round, last Saturday’s Mynydd Myfyr hill run. Results, rules and race details are all available via the links near the bottom of the Off-road page.

Next round is Hot Foot Up Famau on Wednesday June 12th: This one really is up and down the whole way. From the top car park at Moel Famau, the route starts up the main path towards Jubilee Tower, before two steep descents either side of an equally steep climb to the hill fort on top of Moel y Gaer.

A long uphill drag follows, to the bottom of the infamous stone gully. On the plus side, you won’t be required to run this, as even the mountain goats at the front of the field are forced to walk/ stagger up it. And once you emerge back on the main tourist path, it’s pretty much downhill all the way back to the top car park – as last year’s photo (courtesy of SJ Photography) of a relaxed Angela Tegg shows!
