TIME TO STRENGTHEN OUR COACHING TEAM
The future of our club is reliant on our volunteer coaching staff – and it’s now time to seriously look at increasing the numbers of our qualified coaches.
If you’re a parent of an athlete, or know someone you think would fit the bill, please shout up. We need you to inspire, supporte and develop athletes across all events, ability levels, aspirations, and ages.
We’ll support you every inch of the way if you want to step onto the coaching pathway, and get yourself a coaching qualification
If you’re interested, please email Dennis

CLUB MEMBERSHIP FEES ARE NOW DUE!
If you’ve not paid, you’re not insured and won’t be allowed to train or compete. You should have had a link to renew your membership by email. Please let Debbie Baker know if you haven’t had this, or are not looking to renew your membership.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the Essar Chester Spring Five Miles Road Race at Cheshire County Sports Club, Upton-By-Chester a big success.

Photos are also available.

YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU
Marshals are needed for the Chester Half Marathon being held on Sunday 21st May.
Please let Ellie Robinson know if you’re able to join the club’s teamΒ  on Sunday 21st May this year. We need approximately 27 people.
It’s always a fun morning watching the race and encouraging the runners. You’ll also receive a technical T-shirt and a goody bag as a thanks from the organisers (Active Leisure Events).

BORDERS LEAGUE GRAND FINALE
It’s the grand finale of the Borders Road Running League on Wednesday, 26th April, (7.15pm start), hosted by Wrexham AC.
Members will be car sharing from the Cheshire County Sports Club, Upton. If you’re interested, meet at 5.15pm and the last ca will leave at 5.30pm.
It’s also the Presentation evening and there will be plenty of prizes for us, including an almost certain 1st Women’s team, Women’s Improvers team, potentially 1st Men’s Veterans team, and various individual age category wins.Β  There’s also a free buffet if you stay!
We could do with a good Men’s veteran turnout at this one to try and clinch the Men’s vet team win. Wallasey are creeping up on us fast so we need to nail this one! Team members plus friends and family will get tea or coffee and a cake or biscuit.
You must be 15 or over to race and wear your club vest.

ROAD RACE DIRECTOR’S TRAINING COURSE
A RunBritain Training course has been arranged for Saturday, 13th May, at Cheshire County Sports Club, Upton Chester CH2 1PR from 09:15 to 16:15. Tea or coffee and biscuits, and buffet lunch is provided free to any member interested in how a road race is put together.

TOM BOOTH’S LATEST NEW ZEALAND ADVENTURE
Our intrepid guy down-under Tom Booth ran the Northburn 50k and after making third spot his own at 31k,Β  clipped a rock on the descent which led to having a race ending fall! He said: “Really have had no luck with my ultras so far this year!”
He then competed in The Loop The Lake Trail Race, a 25k trail run around Lake Rotoiti in Nelson Lakes where he managed to sneak third place after pulling back second and third at halfway and holding on for dear life through the last 10k, finishing in 1:51.58.
Tom’s next race is the Oparara Wilderness Trail Race.

LONG JUMP TRAINING
John Manning is supervising long jump coaching at the EPSV Track on Thursdays between 6.30-8pm.
