PB 4 OMB in USA; mud in Blackburn
OLIVIA MONTEZ-BROWN has hit the ground running as a student in the United States.
The talented West Cheshire Athletic Club all-rounder who represented England last year in the Hexham Combined Events International, is attending Augustana College, in Illinois, and compiled a personal best pentathlon score of 3,534 points at the University of Minnesota Jack Johnson Invitational Meeting.
Olivia achieved an NCAA Division II provisional qualifying score and the best points total in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season.
Her college assistant coach, Greg Binstock said “Being that it was Olivia`s first pentathlon, for her to set an NCAA provisional mark is something special.“
Olivia clocked 8.93 seconds in the 60m hurdles, cleared 1-54m in the high jump, hit 10.50m in the shot put, long jumped 5.44m, and rounded the 800m in two minutes 29.57 seconds.
KATIE CLARKE clocked 20:26 for 22nd position in the under 17 ladies race at the Northern Cross Country Championships held at Witton Park, Blackburn.
Katie was joined at the event by other West Cheshire members Ethan Greenland (34th in 21:37) and Harri Britton (101st in 27:47) who completed the under 17 mens race.
Issy Clarke posted 18:11 for 25th spot in the under 15 girls race, ahead of Beth McMahon (123rd in 21:04), and Lily Moorhouse (162nd in 23:40).
Sion Roberts (60th in 16:21), David Dentith (69th in 16:31), Jac Goodall (72nd in 16:38), Jack Dodd (101st in 17:10), Alex Mason (115th in 17:37), and Rory Willson (165th in 20:57) represented West Cheshire in the under 15 boys race.
Lucia Pyne (43rd in 15:12) and Molly Jones (148th in 17:02) teamed up in the under 13 girls race.
Isaac Tait (68th in 14:08), William Wright (106th in 14:41), Dylan Bugg (131st in 15:04), and Ethan Butler (199th in 17:38) combined for West Cheshire in the under 13 boys race.
Andrew Clague (342nd in 60:55) was the first of three West Cheshire AC members to complete the senior mens race, ahead of Dave Tiernan (446th in 64:50) and Mark Davies (481st in 66:29).
ANEST MULLER represented West Cheshire AC at the North Wales Cross Country Championships at Corwen and finished third in the senior ladies race.
CHILDER THORNTON Primary School will represent Ellesmere Port, Neston and Helsby at Cheshire County Primary Schools Sportshall Final to be held at the Northgate Arena, Chester, next month.
Childer Thornton secured success at the qualifying competition held at Ellesmere Port Sports Village which attracted nine primary schools from the local area.

ENTRIES are now being accepted for the Liverpool Throws and Jumps Competition which is being held at Wavertree Athletics Centre, on Saturday, April 9.
WEST CHESHIRE AC will start their track and field league season on Sunday, April 10, at Bebington Oval in the first round of the Cheshire League, and other rounds will be held at Crewe on Saturday, June 4; at Warrington on Sunday, July 10; and at Colwyn Bay on Sunday, September 4.
FIXTURES this weekend include the West Cheshire Athletic Club annual presentation evening this Friday at the Cheshire View, Christleton (7.30pm start).
The third round of the West Cheshire AC Schools Cross Country Race Series at Ellesmere Port Sports Village Athletics Track on Saturday (9.15am registration for 10am start), the same day as the North Wales Cross Country League at the Marches School, Oswestry.
The Northern Under 13 and Under 15 Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on Sunday at the English Institute of Sport Arena, Sheffield, on the same day as the Liverpool and District Cross Country Championships at Clarke Gardens, Allerton, the Alsager Five Miles Road Race and the Nick Beer 10k Road Race at Llandudno.
