Youngsters to Deeside Indoor Outcome

WEST CHESHIRE Athletic Club will be represented in six age groups at the North West Sportshall League Final in January.

The Stanney Oaks-based outfit celebrated four team victories at the final round of the three-round competition held at Deeside College, and now qualify for the final to be held on Sunday, January 24.

Freya Johnston, Sara Pearson, Scarlett Ross, Imogen Pughe, Stephanie Jones, Grace Scott, Lara Battersby, Libby Dowling, Carys Roberts, Isla Shillington, Dervla Desouza, and Ruby Wisbey combined for the winning under 11 girls squad.

Tamsin O’Keefe, Anna Crayston, Mimi Jayaram, Ambre Richards, Sophie Cribb, Emma Ashcroft, Abigail Cartwright, and Lucia Pyne teamed up for success in the under 13 girls competition.

Jac Goodall, Dave Dentith, Josh Ford, Daniel Pagan, Will Scott, and Ewan Brandon steered the under 15 boys to success.

And the under 13 boys team of Ivor Smith, Matthew Webb, Michael Maxwell, Ethan Butler and Harvey Tegg grabbed glory.

MARK DAVIES headed the West Cheshire AC charge at the third round of the Borders Road Running League, posting 36 minutes 52 seconds for 17th position around the 10km course.

He was backed up by first under 20 finisher, Ethan Greenland (24th in 37:23), Graham Wells (25th in 37:29), George Dewhurst (31st in 37:40), John Parlevliet (34th in 37:48), Richard Farley (43rd in 38:14), Andy Carter (44th in 38:29), Andrew Clague (56th in 39:07), Alex Staniforth (57th in 39:11), Dave Tiernan (86th in 41:02), Rob Freeman ((88th in 41:11), Vince Hodges (102nd in 42:44), Rob Shellie (105th in 42:57), Bob Benson (108th in 43:12), Richard Batterham (125th in 45:26), Peter Smith (158th in 48:41), and Daniel Craig (173rd in 50:53),

Anest Muller was the first female finisher for West Cheshire, clocking 40:45 for third spot, ahead of Katie Clarke (first under 20 woman, 13th overall, in 42:40), Ellie Robinson (24th in 44:46), Lisa Davies (40th in 48:08), Ann-Marie Tait (46th in 49:05), and Kay Hayes (58th in 51:44).

EMILY MISANTONI represented West Cheshire AC at the Sale Harriers indoor meeting and clocked 1:41.58 in the 600m, 44.15 seconds in the 300m, and cleared 1.45m in the high jump.

ROB FREEMAN (fifth in 20:59) was the first West Cheshire AC finisher at the Ellesmere Port 5km parkrun, ahead of Jack Dodd (sixth in 21:00), Harvey Tegg (13th in 23:02), Charlie Clarke (14th in 23:16), Imogen Pughe (17th in 23:47), Mimi Jayaram (18th in 24:12), and Louis Tegg (21st in 24:27).

FIXTURES this weekend include the final round of the North Staffs Cross Country League at Uttoxeter Racecourse on Saturday (first race at 12 noon), and the Liverpool and District Cross Country League third round at Stadt Moers Park, Huyton, on Saturday (2pm start).
