Olivia Celebrates International Success

Olivia Montez-Brown is celebrating a record-breaking international success story.The West Cheshire AC multi-eventer was a member of the England Schools team that won the World Schools Athletics Cup in the Czech Republic and broke the record points total by 17 points.
Olivia, 17, who lives in Ellesmere Port and is a West Cheshire College student, finished third in the long jump with 5.48m and was fifth overall in the 100m hurdles.
She was joined in the six-strong England Schools girls team by Shirin Irving (Croydon Harriers), Bobby Clay (Invicta East Kent), Sabrina Bakare (Shaftesbury Barnet), Daryll Neita (Cambridge Harriers), and Robyn Petitt (Crawley) who finished ahead of runners-up Slovakia, and third placed China.
Olivia, who won the British Schools Indoor International Pentathlon Championship individual title in Glasgow during December and headed the English Schools squad to team gold, will represent Cheshire at this weekend’s English Schools Track and Field Championships.
Olivia is one of seven West Cheshire AC members who have been selected to compete at Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium alongside Sophie Percival, Kelly Baker, Alice McMahon, Emily Ball, Jenni Potter, and Matthew Pagan.
