Olivia Wins Schools International Pentathlon

Olivia Montez-Brown has capped her memorable year with an international success.The 16 year-old West Cheshire AC multi-eventer represented England at the Schools International Pentathlon match staged in Glasgow, where she won individual and team gold for her country in the over 18 girls competition.
Olivia, who lives in Great Sutton and is a pupil at Ellesmere Port Catholic High School, posted a new personal best of 3,345 points.
She hit 8.87m in the shot put and clocked a new personal best 60m hurdles time of 8.92 seconds, before long jumping 5.49m, and clearing 1-54m in the high jump.
Olivia then rounded the 800m in a time of two minutes 37.5 seconds and was supported by her team mates Emily Dixon, Rhiann Beaumont and Jordanna Morrish to earn England pole position.
The talented teenager won the Northern Indoor under 17 womens 60m hurdles title at Sheffield in January and claimed the 80m hurdles title at the Mason Trophy Inter-Counties Schools Championships in June at Stoke.
Success in the sprint hurdles at both the Cheshire County Clubs and Schools Championships in May and June, was followed by a gold medal display in the long jump at Hull in Julys Northern Championships.
Olivia won the North West Schools Under 17 Womens Combined Events Championships at Crewe in June with 4,337 points, and finished third at Bedford in the English Schools Under 17 Womens Heptathlon Championships in September with 4,330 points.
