West Cheshire AC league title success

West Cheshire AC are celebrating a league title success.The Stanney Oaks-based club finished at the top of the Northern Track and Field League Division Two West league table after the final round held at Bebington Oval.
Alice McMahon and Laura Turley grabbed glory in the womens 100m and 200m A and B races, and were backed up by Nicola Gore, Niamh Reilly, Sophie Percival, Debi and Danielle Erskine, Laura Rigby, and Emily Clarke.
Gore pocketed valuable points alongside Reilly in the pole vault, Debi Erskine in the hammer, and Percival in the shot and high jump.
Danielle Erskine rounded the 400m hurdles and claimed first place in the B long jump alongside Clarke who was second overall in the long jump and also grabbed points from the triple jump.
Rigby scored points from her appearances in the 400m and 800m, and then joined Turley, Dani Erskine, and McMahon in the 4x100m relay.
Multi-talented duo Dave McKay and John Manning headed the mens squad to success.
McKay won the javelin and 110m hurdles and powered his way to further points in the hammer, discus and shot, while Manning bagged precious points from appearances in the pole vault, 400m, and 4x400m relay.
Andrew Gore cleared a new personal best height of 3-45m in the pole vault, while debutant Matthew Wood partnered Sam Rimmer in the long jump who also scored points from the triple jump, and 400m hurdles.
Lee Baty (400m), Cameron Clark (javelin), Liam Devoren (100m), Richard Stocker (discus, shot and hammer), and Michael Lyness (triple jump and high jump) also teamed up for points.
The clubs thanks are also conveyed to Alan Littler, Andrew Clague, Mark Davies, and Chris Goodwin who turned up to compete in the middle distance and longer distance running events to help West Cheshire AC finish fourth at Bebington and in pole position overall after four rounds.
The West Cheshire AC Northern Track and Field League squad will now complete their campaign with an appearance at Leigh in the Division Two Promotion Match to be held on Saturday, August 18.
