Liams Inter County Cross Country Success

Liam Renton finished first for Cheshire at the UK Inter-Counties Cross Country Championships.The West Cheshire AC teenager completed the undulating under 15 boys course at Nottingham’s Wollaton Park in a time of 16 minutes 20 seconds to secure 64th position.
He completed the event in a field of 304 finishers, and was supported by other Cheshire competitors Luke Kinch (125th in 16:47), Calum Murray (141st in 16:53), Mathew Pontifex (159th in 17:01), West Cheshire’s Chris Goodwin (205th in 17:17), Luke Johnson (217th in 17:21), Andrew Miles (219th in 17:22), and Lewis Healey (240th in 17:34).
The Cheshire under 15 boys team finished in 22nd position.
Dave Alexander was part of the Cheshire senior men’s squad at Nottingham, finishing 255th with a time of 45 minutes 32 seconds.
Darragh Staunton was West Cheshire AC’s first finisher at the Farndon 10k Road Race.
He completed the course in a time of 37:03 for 12th position, one place ahead of Andrew Clague who clocked 37:09 for third place in the over 40 age group.
Alan Bevan posted 40:36 for 41st position, ahead of Max Woods (55th in 42:00), Dave Hough (102nd in 45:13), Charles Thackray (280th in 56:01), Mary Radford (second over-60 and 315th in 58:52), and Mark Povey (347th in 63:16).
