Kelly Baker secured a podium place at the UK Schools Games.The talented West Cheshire AC member hit 11.39m for third position at the event held at Sheffields Don Valley Stadium.
Baker, who finished eighth at this years shot event at the English Schools Championships at Gateshead with 10.66m, is now reflecting on a pleasing season.

Entries (free of charge) will be taken on the day of each fixture from 9.15am, but emailed lists from each school of age group entries in advance of each round would be appreciated.
Medals to first three in each race, and to first three in each age group over four rounds. First three finishers from each school in each race count towards a team score over four rounds.
Each pupil will be provided with a race number which should be attached to the front of their T-shirt/vest. Each school should provide a representative/ team manager at each round.

West Cheshire AC will compete at the Northern Track and Field League Promotion match this Saturday at Cleckheaton after winning the Division Two West league title.

West Cheshire AC is celebrating a league title victory.
The Stanney Oaks-based clubs senior squad won the Northern Track and Field League Division Two West championship and wrapped up their campaign with a final round win at Longford Park Stadium, Trafford.
Shona Valentine, Laura Rigby, Bryony Potter, and Danielle Erskine teamed up for victory in the womens 4x100m relay with a time of 51.90 seconds.
Valentine won the B 100m (13.40 seconds), and finished second in her 200m (27.50) alongside Laura Rigby who won the B 200m in 28.0 seconds.
Jenna Sheehy (83.30 seconds in the B 400m hurdles and 8.60m in the B triple jump), Abi Williams (18.20 seconds in the B 100m hurdles), Nicola Gore (21.86m in the B javelin), and Danielle Erskine (5.17m in the long jump) scored individual victories in the womens events.
Tom Booth (59.40 seconds in the 400m hurdles and 17.70 seconds in the 110m hurdles) headed the mens charge with a double success story.
He was backed up by B 110m hurdles winner Dave McKay (25.90 seconds), who also claimed top marks in the hammer (44.71m), B discus (32.19m), javelin (52.98m), and shot (12.15m).
Richard Stocker powered his way to success in the discus (35.30m), and B shot (10.93m), while Andrew Gore won the B javelin (38.30m), and John Manning grabbed glory in the B long jump (5.48m), B triple jump (10.38m), and B pole vault (3m).
Michael Bailiff (1-85m) and Alan Littler (1-70m) combined to secure maximum points for their club in the high jump.
West Cheshire ACs victorious squad are now preparing to compete in the Division One Promotion Match scheduled to take place at Cleckheaton on Saturday, September 10.
There are no entry fees or awards, but every runner will receive a time for the mile.
Wirral AC are intending to field four teams, a runner for each year of their existence to celebrate their centenary.
Runners can be any age, male or female, or have an affiliation with the club as a past member or the parent of a young member rather than be affiliated athletes.
West Cheshire AC will need to have a team manager to work with the officials to supervise the team at the take-over.

Three West Cheshire Athletic Club officials have booked their places at next years Olympic Games in London.John Driscoll, Sheila Whitta, and Alan Morris, have all been selected to work as qualified athletics technical officials at the big sporting event next summer.
Little Sutton-based John Driscoll, a vice-president at West Cheshire AC, was president of Northern Athletics in 2009/10 and played an instrumental role in securing lottery funding for the athletics facilities now based at Stanney Oaks.
He has been appointed as a recorder for both the mens and womens marathons and race walk events which are scheduled to finish in The Mall.
He officiated at the 2002 Commonwealth Games held in Manchester and is a qualified road, cross country and track and field official who played a leading role in the formation of the popular Borders Road Running League Series of races.
Sheila, who lives in Connahs Quay, and Alan, who lives in Chester, have both been appointed as field judges and will work inside the Olympic Stadium.
All three helped officiate at the Cheshire County Track Relay Championships at the Stanney Oaks Track in Ellesmere Port on Saturday, and Alan officiated at the Diamond League Meeting at Birminghams Alexander Stadium on Sunday.
West Cheshire AC chairman Dennis Wall said: Everyone at West Cheshire AC conveys their best wishes and congratulations to John, Sheila and Alan who richly deserve the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of being part of an Olympic Games in Great Britain.
All three are highly respected athletics officials and they have all played major roles in the success of many athletics fixtures.
They are all valued club members and officials at West Cheshire AC and the club is delighted and proud of their achievements.
