Olivia Wins U20 Heptathlon Silver
Olivia Montez Brown pocketed a silver medal at the England Under 20 Combined Events Championships.The talented West Cheshire AC multi-eventer compiled a new personal best total of 4,583 points in the heptathlon at Bedford which attracted 17 competitors.
Olivia, who lives in Ellesmere Port, started the two-day event by clocking 15.14 seconds in the 100m hurdles, before clearing 1-54m in the high jump, hitting 9.31m in the shot, and posting 26.56 seconds in the 200m.
Olivia opened the final day by long jumping 5.24m, launching the javelin 32.08m, and then rounded the 800m in two minutes 27.92 seconds.
Olivia finished eight points ahead of third placed Niamh Bailey (Kettering Town Harriers), and adrift of eventual winner, Danielle McGifford (Wigan) who posted 5,113 points.
