We compete in aΒ variety of disciplines, including track and field, road running, off-road (cross-country, multi-terrain, and fell), in organised leagues, championships and open events mostly around North-west England and North Wales.
We organise several road races and a schools’ cross-country series.
The John Driscoll Road Running Championship
This Championship is to honour athletics stalwart John Driscollβs contribution to both West Cheshire Athletic Club and the wider world of athletics. It is open to all WCAC 1st claim members aged 15 or over at the start of the championship year. Age-graded scores will be given to members who compete over different distances from 5K, 5 mile, 10K, 10 mile and half marathon. The winner will be the person with the highest score over three different distances. They will receive the Driscoll Memorial Shield, kindly donated by Johnβs wife Ann.

Endurance League
Since 2008, there has been an annual Endurance League competition for West Cheshire AC’s senior and veteran runners, based on gaining points for participation in road, cross-country, multi-terrain and fell races over the calendar year, with an emphasis on club events. Draft women’s and men’s tables for the 2025 league that ran from October 1st 2024 to September 30th 2025 are now available, as are lists of races in which points were gained between October and March, and from April onwards. Final women’s and men’s tables for the 2024 league that ran from January 1st to September 30th are now available, as is a list of races in which points were gained up to and since July 2024.
