Each year a local charity is supported by the event and runners are invited to raise money. The charity for 2010 is the Chester Skills Development Centre in Blacon which is the local branch for Scope whose aim is to achieve equal opportunities for disabled people in the community. To direct the sponsorship money to the Chester Skills Development Centre write in the space provided on the National Sponsorship Form that the money was raised by running the Shell Chester Half Marathon.
