Junior Open Cross Country Races
A series of four cross country fixtures for primary school pupils, years 4 & 5, plus years 6 & 7 for high school pupils.
The purpose of the series is to increase participation in cross country in the district. West Cheshire AC is keen to promote all areas of athletics and is determined to establish school-club links with primary and secondary schools within Chester, Ellesmere Port and Neston.

The races of the same distance may be combined if numbers are small.
RULES:
- Each participating school should provide a representative/team manager at each round.
- Each school pupil must be registered by the R/TM to receive a race number.
- The number must be attached to the front of their school vest/T-Shirt.
Awards:
- Medals will be presented to the first three finishers in each race.
- The first four finishers from each school in each race will count towards a team score (add up finishing positions).
- The team competition is over the four-rounds, with each team score being added to the previous total after each fixture.
- Awards will also be presented to the top three finishers overall in each age group after four rounds.
