YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU
Marshals are needed for the Chester Half Marathon being held on Sunday 21st May.
Please let Ellie Robinson know if you can join the club’s team of marshals at the Chester Half this year. We’re allocated 3 zones on the course and need approximately 30 people to cover all of the positions. It’s always a fun morning watching the race and encouraging the runners. You’ll also receive a technical T-shirt and a goody bag as a thanks from the organisers (Active Leisure Events).
If you can help please email Ellie at:ellie.matt@tiscali.co.uk

SUPPORT NEEDED FOR OUR HOME MATCH
We’re hosting the opening round of the Cheshire Track and Field League at Ellesmere Port Sports Village this Sunday (8th May).
It would be great to see a big turn-out of members and parents for this fixture which starts at 12 noon. Please arrive no later than 11am to help team managers  prepare declaration sheets and dish out numbers.
If you’re coming along as a parent, please be prepared to help  the fixture run smoothly by volunteering to officiate on the day.
The timetable can be found here

TIME TO STRENGTHEN OUR COACHING TEAM
The future of our club is reliant on our volunteer coaching staff – and it’s now time to seriously look at increasing the numbers of our qualified coaches.
If you’re a parent of an athlete, or know someone you think would fit the bill, please shout up. We need you to inspire, supporte and develop athletes across all events, ability levels, aspirations, and ages.
We’ll support you every inch of the way if you want to step onto the coaching pathway, and get yourself a coaching qualification
If you’re interested, please email dennis.wall1@ntlworld.com

Our women won the Division One and Improvers Team titles and the veteran men secured success in the team competition, while Ethan Greenland, Ethan Ackroyd, Greg Jones and Rory Willson occupied the top four places in the under 20 men’s event.

Sisters Katie and Issy Clarke finished first and second overall respectively in the under 20 women’s competition, while Anest Muller finished second behind winner Nicky Whitfield-Bird in the over 35 women’s category, and Bob Benson finished third in the over 60 men’s age group.
