WCAC celebrate double Sportshall victories

West Cheshire AC is celebrating two North West regional team victories.
The Chester and Ellesmere Port-based club’s under 15 girls and under 15 boys squads clinched their respective age group titles at the final of the North West Sportshall League, held at Robin Park Sports Centre, Wigan.
Joseph O’Riordan, Stephen Jones, Ryan Jones, and Sam Rimmer, Richard Farley, David Donkin, and Michael Bailiff teamed up to wrap up success for the under 15 boys squad.

Alice Jennings, Emma Johnson, Jenni Potter, Danielle Erskine, Alice McMahon, Chelsea Butler, Karry Broster, Gemma Hale, and Jenna Sheehy pulled together to earn the under 15 girls team victory.
West Cheshire’s under 13 girls squad clinched runners-up position.

Both the club’s under 11 boys and girls teams achieved second position on the day.
And West Cheshire’s under 13 boys finished third in their age group final.

Under 15 Girls: 1 West Cheshire 167 points; 2= Crewe and Nantwich, and DASH; 4 Sutton St Helens 109; 5 Deeside 63.
Under 15 Boys: 1 West Cheshire 181; 2 DASH 142; 3 Halton and Frodsham 132; 4 Warrington 114; 5 Handforth 47.
Under 13 Girls: 1 Crewe and Nantwich 158.5; 2 West Cheshire 156.5; 3 Halton and Frodsham 138.5; 4 Deeside 132; 5 Liverpool 110.5; 6 DASH 103.5; 7 Sutton St Helens 102.
Under 13 Boys: 1 Crewe and Nantwich 170.5; 2 Deeside 152; 3 West Cheshire 151; 4 DASH 128; 5 Southport/Waterloo 127.5; 6 Halton and Frodsham 109.5.

James Ellis and Liam Renton earned Cheshire’s Intermediate Boys squad first team place at the Schools’ Inter-Counties Cross Country Races at Castle Park Frodsham.
James finished second and Liam secured sixth position.
Alec Beaney finished ninth in the Senior Boys event in which Cheshire won the team event against Shropshire, Leicestershire, and West Midlands.
